Frequently Asked Questions 2026

Updated 03-2026

1. Where does your beef come from?

All of our beef is raised by the Goemmer family on family ranches and processed at our USDA-Federally Inspected facility in Nowata, Oklahoma. Our cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished for exceptional flavor and marbling, delivering premium beef straight from our ranch to your dinner plate.

2. Is your beef grass-fed or grain-finished?

Our cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished, a method that produces the rich flavor and tenderness many people prefer. Cattle spend most of their lives grazing pasture and are finished on a balanced grain ration during the final stage of growth.

This approach offers several benefits:

  • Better flavor and marbling – Creates juicy, tender, flavorful beef
  • Consistent quality – Reliable texture and taste across cuts
  • Well-balanced nutrition for cattle – Supports steady, healthy growth
  • Classic steakhouse flavor – The taste most people expect from premium beef

This process helps us produce high-quality beef that cooks beautifully and delivers exceptional flavor from our ranch to your table.

3. Is your beef inspected?

Yes. All of our beef is USDA-Federally Inspected and packaged to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

4. What makes your beef different from grocery store beef?

Our beef comes directly from our family ranches and is processed at our family-owned processing plant that is USDA Federally Inspected. You know exactly where your food comes from, how the animals were raised, and the family behind it.

5. What products do you offer?

We offer a variety of beef products, including individual cuts, family bundles, bulk beef shares, and specialty items like snack sticks and sausage.

6. Is grass-fed beef better?

Both grass-fed and grain-finished beef have benefits, and it often comes down to personal preference.

All cattle start their lives grazing on grass and pasture. The difference comes in the finishing stage. At American Heritage Beef Company, our cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished, which produces the flavor and tenderness most people expect from high-quality beef.

Grain finishing helps:

  • Develop rich marbling (more tender, juicy steaks)
  • Create a classic steakhouse flavor
  • Produce consistent quality
  • Support steady, healthy growth
  • Fully grass-fed beef can be leaner with a different flavor profile, while grain-finished beef tends to have more marbling and tenderness.

Our goal is simple: raise cattle responsibly and produce delicious, high-quality beef that families love.

7. Are beef shares customizable?

Yes! We offer both standard shares (pre-selected cuts) and custom shares where you can choose the steak thickness, roast size, and packaging size.

8. How will I receive my order?

After placing your order, you will receive your beef in one of three ways, depending on your location and product selection:

  • Local Pickup – Pick up your order at our facility in Nowata, Oklahoma at a scheduled time
  • Local Delivery – Available within select areas of Northeast Oklahoma
  • Shipping – Orders ship frozen in insulated packaging with dry ice or cold packs
  • Once your order is ready or shipped, you will receive confirmation with pickup details or tracking information.

9. Do you offer delivery?

Yes. Many of our beef bundles and shares can be delivered directly to your door, making it easy to stock your freezer with ranch-raised beef.

10. What size beef shares do you offer?

Typical share sizes include:

  • 50 lb (Eighth Share)
  • 100 lb (Quarter Share)
  • 200 lb (Half Share)
  • 400 lb (Whole Share)

11. Do you process animals for other ranchers?

13. What is the difference between American Heritage Beef Company, American Heritage Beef Processing, and Market in the Ville?

All three are part of the same family operation, but each serves a different purpose:

Our direct-to-consumer beef brand. Customers can purchase ranch-raised beef through bundles, shares, subscriptions, and individual cuts.

American Heritage Beef Processing
Our USDA Federally Inspected processing facility in Nowata, Oklahoma. We process our own cattle and provide custom processing services for ranchers and livestock producers.

Market in the Ville
